Internships for Individuals with Disabilities

“I did an internship at Mountain West Bank through Project SEARCH. I told my instructor, Theresa, my dream job was to work in an office. Theresa and my job coach Abbie helped me get to where I wanted to work. It took a lot of working hard and learning the skills that I needed to work at the bank, and they helped me get to where I am today. I can't thank them enough for always helping me and never giving up.”

Personal & Professional Success for Veterans

"With eight years of service in the Iowa National Guard, two and a half being Active Duty, I served as a small teams leader in a mechanical and aviation environment, gaining valuable experience in teamwork, leadership, and high operational efficiency. My service on domestic and foreign soil honed my ability to manage resources, solve complex problems, and execute projects effectively – skills that I bring to my role at GBCI as a Disposal and Procurement Coordinator in the ITAM department. My military discipline and willingness to learn drive the leverage needed to produce efficient processes and deliver optimal results for IT as a whole. GBCI supports the militaristic endeavor of training up and down, supporting those who crave knowledge, and recognizing hard work and diligence."

Recycling Works

In 2019, First Security Bank became a founding sponsor of Recycling Works (RW), a Missoula-based company that recycles glass. That year alone, Missoula residents saved 350,000 pounds of glass from the landfill. RW sends the glass to a processing partner who turns it into sandblasting material, home insulation, and new bottles. First Security Bank is proud to partner with RW as they aim to ship 1 million pounds of glass by the end of 2020 and work with the City of Missoula to produce zero waste by the year 2050.

Making a commitment to our community by being a Change Maker

Community is the thread that weaves all of us together. We value the opportunity to support the places we call home, by engaging in groups and organizations that breathe life into our corner of Montana.

Each year at First Security Bank of Missoula, every employee is given the power to select a local non-profit of their choice for us to donate $250 to that organization on their behalf. Additionally, all our new account holders receive a token of appreciation valued at $10 that they place in the receptacle representing a community development organization of their choice. FSB annually donates the total amount collected to the selected non-profits on behalf of our customers.

Providing a voice to our employees and our customers to select organizations that are important to them personally allows us to share in our investment in our local communities. Together, through our Change Maker program we can rise to the challenges in our community to make a positive impact.
